Biography
| “I have a mild obsession with aestheticism and small details of our everyday world that I am given the chance to capture through my work. Throughout my life I’ve experienced a move from Moscow, Russia, to South Florida and that has helped me see the variety in these small details from place to place. I watch a lot of films, notice subtleties on screen and off, and when I go in to shoot these are the things my eye is automatically drawn to. Sounds, smells, intimate glances, the textures of things and the ambience they give off all contribute to my capturing of a photograph and the thrill I get from the act. I love the feel of singular moments in time as they are frozen within a frame, little pieces of history that are only my own, and none other can duplicate. This individualism and uniqueness drives me to continue to create and provide the world with dynamic images that are a reflection of my own experiences and a reflection of the people and circumstances that made them occur. They are my way of indirectly telling another soul of something extremely personal to me, without saying a word.” |
